Program Overview

Your Summer Moroccan Studies program in Rabat lasts 4 weeks and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds to gain an in-depth understanding of Moroccan culture and society. You will choose from CIEE courses taught in-person at CIEE Rabat by local faculty. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in Moroccan culture. Live and learn in Rabat!

Activities

CIEE's excursions and cultural activities in Rabat will open doors for you to explore Morocco's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of past excursions and activities:

Explore thousands of years of history with a guided tour of Rabat's UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Old Medina and Kasbah, the ancient ruins of Chellah, and the Andalusian Gardens
Get lost in the red-walled medina of Marrakech, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, and watch the sun set as street performers, musicians, and storytellers appear in Jemaa el-Fnaa
Hike to the Akchour waterfalls, stopping to drink a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice while you rest your feet in the crystal-clear waters of the nearby rivers

Academics

CIEE Rabat:?Study in the diverse and modern neighborhood of Agdal in central Rabat, only a few miles from the city's historic Hassan Tower and lovely Chellah gardens. CIEE Rabat is housed in a charming villa, featuring three main classrooms, a Moroccan-style social area, and a peaceful outdoor space.

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
